Salcox®
Product Description
- Salcox® premix is broad spectrum anticoccidial belonging to the monovalent ionophore antibiotic.
- Salcox® acts in the early stages of the coccidia life cycle.
- Salcox® is used for the prevention of coccidiosis in broilers caused by Eimeria acervulina, Eimeria burnetti, Eimeria necatrix, Eimeria mivatis, Eimeria maxima, and Eimeria tenella.
Composition
Each 1 gm contains Salinomycin Sodium 133 mg Eq. to Salinomycin base 120 mg)
Mode of action
Salcox® can form complexes with sodium and potassium ions in the host and the developing parasite. This complex renders the membrane permeability of the parasite to sodium and potassium ions, leading to a change in the osmotic pressure which causes damage to the parasite.
Indications
Prophylaxis against coccidia infection
Target species:
- Broilers chickens
- Replacement chickens up to 16 weeks
Inclusion rate
Dose: 60 ppm in finished feed, equals 0.5 kg of the product per ton of feed continuously as the sole ration to the broiler chickens

Should not be mixed with other anticoccidials

Contraindications
- Not to be used in chickens producing eggs for human consumption.
- Not to be used with tiamulin
Side effects
- No side effects in recommended doses
- Large doses for prolonged administration may cause inappetence
